Not worth it unless you can handle the emotional grind
Honest take: most people who go into doctor coordination burn out fast and dont talk about it. My neighbor did it for two years at a clinic in Phoenix, loved the patients, hated how much fell through the cracks between doctors, insurers, and families. The pay was decent for the region but the hours bled into evenings constantly. If you need clear boundaries and a predictable schedule this is not it. The job exists because clinics need someone to hold everything together but they dont always respect what that actually costs you. Good role if you genuinely thrive on being the person everyone calls when things go sideways. Otherwise skip it and look at medical coordination in a bigger system where the support structure is actually there.
