Мистецтвознавці потрібні, особливо в музеях, галереях, аукціонах. Але більшість вакансій там невеликі зарплати, і конкурція жорстка. Якщо хочете реально працювати в культурній сфері, культурологія дає ширшу базу. Науковий підхід до мистецтва краще залишити для аспірантури чи публікацій.

Everyone talks about methodology and theory when it comes to culturology, and sure, that stuff matters, but I've been doing this work for a few years now, mostly through a side project that turned into something more serious, and I keep running into the same wall. The actual day to day work, the part I genuinely enjoy, is sitting with people, listening to how they describe their own traditions and rituals without leading them toward any particular conclusion. That one on one interview process is where the real data lives for me. But I'm noticing in 2026 that hiring panels and grant committees seem to care less about that and more about quantifiable outputs, dashboards, AI assisted analysis tools, all that. So here's what I actually want to know. For anyone working in culturology right now, what soft skill has actually made the biggest difference in your work, not on paper but in practice, when it comes to building trust with the communities or organizations you study. I'm based in Lisbon but I collaborate with teams in Canada and Germany, and the expectations are completely different in each place, so I'm curious if this is a universal thing or just my experience.
